Craftlove/On My Needles
First up – Boneyard
It’s coming along nicely, don’t you think? The yarn is my own handspun, with roving from Three Waters Farm, with some Knitpicks Wool of the Andes dyed with Dylon fabric dye in Ocean.

Crazy Monkeys aka No Purl Monkeys
These are turning out well, too. The yarn is Fiesta Baby Boom, colorway Innocence. I didn’t know that Baby Boom was discontinued! Bummer!! It’s my all time fave sock yarn!
My Own Mixed Media
My frenzied spasm of creativity a couple of months ago has moderated some, but I still spend some time every day at my little art table. Here are a few things I have to show for it-
Yow, extreme close up! This is actually a black corregated ATC from the clearance aisle. I cut the hearts out of drywall tape and used a red Magic Marker on one of them. The words are Tim Holtz Chitchat stickers. This is one of my “less is more” mixed media experiments and I really love it.
This one has a beachy theme – I made this right after we returned from our beach vacay when I was YEARNING for one more taste of Grayton, just a bit more sand, a bit more watching the grandgirls do what all kids do at the beach, building sandcastles, digging to China, jumping over waves, getting a little braver every time. Sigh. Why do I torture myself??
I applied a background of Tim Holtz Distress Ink using Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral followed by layers of random words stenciled using Picked Raspberries Distress Ink and a heavier application of Abandoned Coral through a kind of abstract swirly floral stencil. Last, I used matte medium to apply the way cute, beach themed paper napkins that our Hostess with the Mostest, Mary V., always uses. Now you know why I was hoarding the paper napkins, Mary! I really haven’t gone crazy!! I had plans!! Last, I gave it a coat of matte medium overall for good measure. What do you think? I’m wishing now I’d used a canvas instead of just mixed media paper, but I do have leftover materials stashed, so all is not lost.
Look Ma! No Cavities!
Look who had her first visit to the dentist and ACED it—–
The Elf!!!
Seriously, do you think she’s cute enough?? She also has the temperament to match, silly, giggly, and don’t let those blonde curls fool you – she’s sharp as a tack. She’s an animal lover – a girl after my own heart – and can charm the birds out of the trees. They don’t get much girly-girlier either…under that tutu is a pair of pink ballet slippers. Way to go, Angel Baby and keep showing your pearly whites!
